Products are custom to the preferences of a client as and when available. Full scale view of what that products will be available is yet to be determined upon the receiving of indicators within the next few weeks - which is pushing for the new year.

Services are based upon the market analysis of areas to focus in the light of response to products intro - to be determined later to new year.

Lucy Curley

Beginning

Born in Frobisher Bay, NWT (Iqaluit, Nu) and raised in Cape Dorset (Kinngait, Nu), I was the youngest of my ataata, Kellypalik and anaana, Nubiya Curley - my grandparents.

Culture and Language

We all spoke Inuktitut everywhere and it was normal. English was also normal. I only really started speaking English when I moved away as the rest of the kids in Iqaluit did.

Tradition

We spent summers camping and living on the land, eating, hunting and preparing any country food we harvest. I am not particularly fond of fish though. It could been the place we were over the summers that had abundance of fish all summer we stayed, Kangiqsuqittuq. I really don't know but I cant stand the smell of fish.

My Ataata and Anaana

I remember mostly being around my ataata, following him to the store, working around outside the house - either on the machines or something he was building.

One thing I admire about him, he accomplished what he set his mind to - took what others saw as trash or obsolete and repurposed with an added value. His inventions were creative and everyone would be amazed at him.

My anaana did everything in the house with her hands the way they were, she was super in everything she did. I didn't really follow her around but I always needed her.

My Ataata

Curley is my familys name from my late ataata, Kellypalik. He was the first born, making him the eldest son of Qayaa&yuaq and Tarralik Curley.

His Ataata

His father, Qayaaq&uaq was given the name Curley by the whalers to record as a last name, provided that he didn't have one. Which was derived from the very evidence of his hair, being curly.

My grandfather, Qayaa&yuaq had two wives.

This had nothing to do with religion or any belief thats usually tried and stemmed back into a category of a formed sets.

Qayaa&yuaq was a whaler and with a second wife for he was an exceptional whaler able to provide for a family in the size of which was also the representation of the family size, to include the ones yet to come.

What Curley Means To Me

Curley meant nothing more than a curly hair and a last name. Today, I'm finding a meaning to the name, Curley, to mean more than just a representation of our family.

Its something you can't explain with words. Its in the way that I express being genuine and kind. My kindhearted nature

I was around eight years old that I grew up beside or following my ataata where he went about his daily routine. I did pretty well everything together. I watched him in the way he reacted to the unexpected and the way he handled it. He never omitted anything in the between of it all. In all of that, he humbly never mentioned it to be his - its the way it shuold and so it is.
